Asalam Alaykum

Alhamdulillah

Through your donations for the first campaign to save Refugees families threatened with expulsion in the Arsal camps, we collected about $72,000 and paid the rent for some of the Refugees camps where people were threatened with expulsion.

In Arsal, there are about 140 camps for ten thousand Refugees families. You can see the documentation for the first phase of the first campaign on our drive here.

Now we are working on a second campaign, which is to save 1012 Refugees families who are threatened with expulsion in the Arsal camps if they do not pay rent within a period of two months.

A state of panic has spread among the Refugees refugees in the Arsal camps in Lebanon after the owners of the land warned them of the deadline for paying the rent under penalty of expulsion. These refugee families will lose the little they have left if we do not help them soon!

What has happened?

The town of Arsal is located 122 km east of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and has about 120 refugee camps, home to those who have fled the ravages of the war in Refugees. After many aid organizations stopped paying their rent, 1012 Refugees families have been threatened with expulsion from the Arsal camps. If these refugees are unable to pay, they will be left with nothing and displaced all over again.

#Rent_Arsa_Camps: A movement that could save them

Refugees activists had launched a hashtag called #Rents_Arsal_Camps, which they used to appeal to the United Nations and relief organizations to intervene.

Hile is the camp where Umm Khadija resides. She said: “The owners of the land came to us and threatened us with eviction if the rents were not paid.” She added that the humanitarian situation in the camp is catastrophic, as aid is sometimes absent for a week or two, in addition to their suffering from low temperatures.

Umm Khadija has appealed to relief organizations to intervene as soon as possible to pay the rent of the land and meet the needs of the camp residents.

The rents of land in Arsal range from 1,000-7,000 dollars, while some lands may reach 9,000 dollars

Below are the camps that are affected. Every name is home to hundreds of refugees who will be displaced once again. Please show your support today!

Every dollar and share will help alleviate this stress and burden on the Refugees refugees. Help us ensure they are able to have a place to call home!
